Re-Imagining Orozco

Themes
political action, social practice

A co-presentation of Parsons’ Sheila C. Johnson Design Center and The New School Art Collection, “Re-Imagining Orozco” celebrates José Clemente Orozco’s historic 1931 mural cycle A Call to Revolution and Table of Universal Brotherhood. With the collaboration of Mexican-American artist Enrique Chagoya and the university-wide participation of New School students and faculty, the exhibition offered an opportunity to revisit the murals as a platform for a contemporary exploration of socio-political art making practices.
